Yes, due to official Apple restrictions, the Apple SuperDrive will not function when connected to a Mac via a third-party hub or dock.
Therefore, we recommend connecting the Apple SuperDrive directly to the Mac itself. If you need an adapter to connect it to your Mac, please use an adapter officially recommended by Apple.
